and don't forget, we'd love for you to share!  If you just want to post anything you do and let me do it for you, please email me at

If you want to be added as a contributor to post once the ideas are in place, please email me and let me know that too.  That way you can post when you want to.

Thanks for stopping by.  More inspiration in October!!!

Five Random Pictures

Here are five random pictures, courtesy of Flickr's Last 7 Days feature.

How will these inspire you?

Five Random Overheard bits of conversation

I work in the tech support field and you'd be amazed at the crazy things you overhear from your co-workers.  I hope these crazy remarks taken out of context can inspire you for some art and writings or both.

“First I’ll get on the Master and then I’ll take the Slave.”

“I need my purple pills.”

“Dude . . . .I think something just laid it’s eggs in my head.”

“I didn’t have the heart to tell him it was no longer 1997.”

Ten Updated Classics

One of the trends is taking an old literature classic and changing it into something new and exciting . . . . or even crazy.  Here are some random updated classics, courtesy of the Seventh Sanctum.  Something to draw or something to write, your call

Don Quixote (Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra) with holograms!

Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte) with aliens!

Les Miserables (Victor Hugo) with mutants!

Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen) with Bollywood dance numbers and shootouts!

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (Mark Twain) with aliens!

The Fall of the House of Usher (Edgar Allen Poe) with robots versus aliens!

Tom Jones (Henry Fielding) with virtual reality!

Treasure Island (Robert Louis Stevenson) with alien abduction!

Ulysses (James Joyce) with biotechnology!

Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte) with epic natural disasters and genetic engineering!

Five Random Quotes

Here are the last few words from some random quotes off the Wikiquotes page.  Turn them into a drawing or a story.  Your call

Of Work and their duty

Of time before we’re found

The compass of good manners

Gentlemen, the chips are down

Menthols. Salems. Possibly . . . . . Newports

Five Random Words

Generated from a random word generator.  Do they all connect?  Go ahead and combine them into a picture or a story.  Or just use a few, your decision.

The Rules and Procedures

This site's sole purpose is to help funnel the dreams and inspirations of writers and artists alike.  So the rules are small but sometimes, it's necessary to point things out.

Use whatever medium you are comfortable with.  If you like to paint, then paint.  If you like to draw, then draw.  If you want to use photographs, or photoshop, or all of the above, go right ahead.  The point is you are creating something.

At the beginning of every month, thirty items will be posted.  These pictures and words will be used for inspiration.  Use them however you see fit (that's kinda the point, right?)  They will be showcased in groups of five so hopefully they'll be plenty of things to choose from.  If more than thirty is requested, then I'll strive to post more.

It's my hope that we can build something from this.  When you are ready with your art, we'd like to see it posted.  If you want me to do it, please email me at

If you want to be authorized to post on this blog, definitely let me know that and I'll add you.

I'll be posting the thirty items soon.  Normally I would wait till September 1st but I'll actually be out of town at that time.  I'll even post up a link when I get back :)

Take care and thanks for stopping by
